Social Program
We are pleased to offer a very exciting social program at the AESC 2010, with opportunities for you to re-connect with colleagues, explore possibilities and make new connections, whilst experiencing local wines and produce.
The Welcome Reception - Ice Breaker is included in your convention registration, but you will need to register for this event.
Tickets for the following events can be booked through the registration page, either at the same time as your convention registration, or at a later date. Please note that tickets for some events are limited and will be issued on a first-come first-served basis to those that have paid. Subject to availability, tickets will also be available for purchase on-site at the convention.
Welcome Reception - Ice Breaker

Venue: National Convention Centre Canberra, Exhibition Hall
Time: 5.30pm – 7.00pm
Dress: Convention attire/neat casual
Cost: One ticket to the Ice Breaker is included in full convention registration. Additional tickets for day attendees or accompanying persons can be purchased for $60 per ticket.

Education and Careers Evening
Date: Monday, 5 July 2010
Time: 4-6.00pm
Venue: Geoscience Australia, Cnr Jerrabomberra Ave and Hindmarsh Drive, Symonston.
Cost: Free
To celebrate the diverse nature and job prospects of this dynamic field of study,
a free student and careers night is being held during the convention at Geoscience Australia.
Students, teachers, parents and interested members of the public will be able to engage
with professionals from all around Australia and discover what careers exist in these fields
and what study pathway to take.

Convention Dinner
Date: Wednesday, 7 July 2010
Time: 7.00pm for 7.30pm
Venue: Australian War Memorial
Dress code: Smart casual
Cost: $120 per person (price includes a three course dinner and Canberra district wines)
Shuttle buses will transfer delegates to and from the National Convention Centre and the War
Memorial. Buses will depart from the front entrance of the National Convention Centre at 6.30pm.
Buses back to the National Convention Centre will commence at 10.00pm.
